Financing the energy transition: discover how regions are leveraging third-party investments

About the Event

How can regions unlock investment in the energy transition when grants are not enough and taking on more debt is not an option? Join this webinar to learn how regional public actors are using third-party investment models to accelerate energy efficiency and decarbonisation

How can regions accelerate investment in energy efficiency and decarbonisation when public grants are not enough, and building owners, businesses and public authorities cannot or do not want to take on additional debt?

Third-party investment models offer one possible answer. By shifting the upfront investment and, in some cases, the ownership and performance risk away from the final beneficiary, these models can make energy and decarbonisation projects possible that might otherwise remain on the drawing board.

But what conditions need to be in place to make these models work — and what role can regional public actors play in creating them?

In this Prospect Cube webinar, we will explore how third-party investment can be unlocked, looking at both the conditions that enable investment and the practical role regional energy agencies and public actors can play in delivering it.

We will hear from:

AREC Occitanie, which operates FITEO, will present a practical regional example of third-party investment in action, enabling SMEs and mid-caps to undertake industrial and tertiary-sector decarbonisation without carrying the upfront investment on their balance sheet.

We will share insights from a series of projects on the conditions and delivery architecture needed to trigger third-party investment and de-risk energy transition projects.

Together, the contributions will explore how public and regional actors can help de-risk projects, structure investment opportunities and mobilise third-party capital for the energy transition.
