Investing in Efficiency: Financing Pathways for Energy–Efficient Buildings in Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe

SEFA will be participating in the ENERGATE 4th regional training workshop, hosted by the Global Green Growth Institute, aimed at bring together key stakeholders from the financial, real estate, and energy sectors to explore how capital markets and banks can support investments in energy-efficient buildings. The workshop will provide a platform to discuss the development of a strong project pipeline, the viability of matchmaking platforms, and strategies to increase the market penetration of the ENERGATE platform across Central and Eastern Europe. The event is aligned with EU goals for climate neutrality and energy efficiency in the built environment.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Raise awareness about the role of capital markets and banks in financing building energy efficiency investments.

  • Discuss the challenges of developing a robust project pipeline for residential energy efficiency investments.

  • Discuss the viability and long-term sustainability of matchmaking platforms in the building energy efficiency landscape.

  • Identify solutions to increase the market penetration of the ENERGATE platform.
